Swimming

We have been experiencing 90+ degree weather and high humidity, so over the weekend we opened my Mother's Day gift! It was nice to relax in some cool water. Jake had a blast! He has loved the water since birth, and he would have stayed in the pool forever if we let him! He just played with his toys and splashed away. We all had a blast!

Lately he has been making this face. (It's pretty cute!)

Seven Months Old!

Jake is seven months old today! Wow, this past month has just flown by. He is becoming such an active little guy. He isn't crawling yet, but he rolls and rolls all over the place. He is so much more alert, and I have to keep my eye on him constantly. He is also such a crack up; today while I was getting ready, I caught him laughing like crazy at the cartoons on the T.V. I'm not sure what he was thinking about, but he just loved what those cartoons were doing! He is getting bigger and bigger everyday, and I'm loving every minute. He can sit really well by himself; the only time he struggles keeping his balance, is when he starts to giggle.

This was on Mother's Day. Gary gave me the flower, a cd, and some treats. Jake gave me a pool for us to play in!

This is a crack up. He just loves this turtle bath toy, and he loves playing with it when he's not in the tub. One day, soon after we got it, he put it in his mouth like a binki. It is such a crack up. He loves sucking on the head!

He also loves to pose! He is always crossing his legs like that. (It cracks me up).

Well we found out the hard way that babies and Air Shows don't mix. On Friday, Gary was able to get out early, because there was an Air Show on base. Being the naive parents that we are, we decided to make it a family event. Well, the planes took off, and the screaming began. We quickly packed up, and took off, comforting a very scared little guy. Lets just say, it will be quite a while before we will be going to something like that again!

Oh, and here is a picture of my new hair cut. (I got it cut yesterday). It's so much fun having short hair!

Mississippi Weather = Tornadoes and Walks

Well this past weekend was eventful! On Saturday there were some terrible storms coming through our area, and if you heard on the news, many of the storms had tornadoes. We had gone out on a drive and noticed the sky looked pretty bad, so we turned on the radio to hear tornadoe warnings in our area. When we got home and turned the TV on, they announced that the storm was headed in our direction of town. Gary, Jake, and I sat in the closet while the rain, hail, and wind pounded outside. Luckily the tornadoe didn't touch down in our area, and the only damage we had was a dead tree fell down in our back yard and the power was out for less than an hour. We are grateful that nothing terrible happened and that we were safe.

The next day was beautiful weather, so that afternoon we went to a park near our house and walked around. It has many beautiful trees, and a gorgeous lake. It was nice to get out and enjoy our area!

Here is the tree that fell down. Luckily it broke in half and away from our house.

Now we have another project to do. We need to cut down the rest of the tree!

Happy 25th Birthday Gary!!!

Yesterday was Gary's 25th Birthday. It was a great day! Jake and I were able to go over to his work and eat lunch with him, then when he got home, we went to a restaurant (J. Broussard) for dinner. The food was a Louisiana style, and it was really good. Gary got the catfish, and it was cooked really well; I got spicy shrimp with grits. It was fun to try something different. I also made Gary a cake. It was a chocolate cake with chocolate chunks, the filling was raspberry-chocolate mousse, and the frosting was chocolate. It was really good, but very filling! Anyway, it was a great day; thanks to all those who were thinking about him. I love you Gary, and I hope you had a wonderful day!

Six months old!

Jake is now six months old today! I can't believe how fast time goes by. We have been enjoying every minute of our sweet little guy. He is such a happy baby, and he brings so much joy to our lives. He loves to giggle and smile at everyone, (especially the ladies)! He also loves the tub, playing with his toys sitting up, on his back, or on his belly, and he loves his Daddy and Mommy! Here's a video that I thought everyone would enjoy. It was taken a little over a week ago, but it's close enough to his six month mark. Easter and Termites.

Well, this past weekend was great. We were able to relax, be together as a family, and watch conference. The Easter Bunny also visited Jake! We have been so blessed and are so grateful for all that we have. We are so grateful for the Savior, for the atonement, and His resurrection. It's a wonderful blessing knowing that we will all be resurrected and be together forever! I truly love my family, especially Gary and Jake. They bring so much joy to my life.

Apart from the wonderful weekend, we have also found out that we have termites. Yep, "welcome to the south." They have taken residence in our computer room around the window. Hopefully we can get it taken care of soon before it becomes a big problem.

Spring has Sprung!

The nice thing about Mississippi is that Spring starts early. We have been enjoying the nice weather here for the past few weeks. We also bought a new grill this past weekend, and have had a couple bbqs outside. Here are a few pictures of the past few weeks.

I found these sun glasses at the store the other day. When I put them on him, he kept smiling and laughing. He loves them!

Painting and Jake's first "solids".

Well, this past weekend was a busy one. We primed and painted the walls of the living room/dining/kitchen area, and Jake ate his first "solids." He is getting so big so fast it's crazy. We still have lots of projects to do, but we are happy we have gotten rid of the ugly yellow and red walls, or as Gary called it the McDonald's living room! Now our house feels more like OUR home. Here are some pictures of our hard work.

Final post: Ohio

While in Ohio, we were able to go and visit my brother and his cute family in Indiana. We were able to visit over Valentines Day weekend. We had such a blast hanging with them. The girls just loved Jake, and he loved them. Kenzie could get him to giggle really hard. It was really fun to see him interact with other kids. While we were there, we were able to go to the Children's Museum. Everyone had a blast. Here are the final pictures from our little adventure.
