Visit from G & G Monson & Jake's Birthday.

(Beware, this is a long post!)  October was pretty busy for us.  We were lucky to have Gary's parents come and visit with us.  It was so much fun to see them.  The boys LOVED all of the extra attention, and it was fun to catch up.  They were able to watch the boys for us on our anniversary so we could go out on a well-needed date.  On October 18, we were officially married for six years!  Time goes by so quickly.  It has been such a wonderful six years, and I am so grateful that I've had my best friend to spend them with!  Jake's birthday is the following day, so he got extra-spoiled from grandparents!  Thanks to Mom and Dad Monson for taking time to come and visit with our family!  It was so great to be with you guys.  

 

What's better than a Krispy Kreme doughnut on your birthday?

Jake got a Captain America action figure and a cape and mask from Grandma & Grandpa Monson.  He has used these toys everyday since!  (What a perfect gift for our little super hero!)

 

We spent Jake's birthday at the Tuscaloosa Children's Museum.  The boys had a blast, and everyone was pooped by the time we left! 

Jake loved the dress-up clothes.  I was surprised how many boys clothes they had.  (They had just as many as the girl's clothes).

They had a hospital area.  It was SO cute!  Here Jake is making sure George is doing ok.

The boys (meaning Kevin, Gary, Jake, and Austin) enjoyed the blocks!  They would build huge towers and watch them tumble.  (I was just hoping no one would get knocked out!)

For some reason Austin threw a fit when we gave him a cupcake.  He took a bite, then started crying and threw the cupcake on the floor.  (Toddlers!)

Another day we were able to go to a pumpkin patch in our area.  The boys had a blast.  There was a corn box to play in.  It was pretty crowded, but the boys loved it!

There was a cart full of cotton for kids to play with.  Jake had to have a little coxing from Grandpa to get into it, but when he did, he had fun!

Another day we went to the Birmingham Zoo.  We were able to go in an area and feed the birds.  Gary had to dodge a few bird "splats."  It was pretty funny!
